The course focus is to develop and enhance the student’s skills and understanding of basic computer concepts related to hardware and software, digital security, data entry and extraction of data. To acquire and demonstrate knowledge of and skills in current computer operating systems, secure data computing and use of software applications used in a healthcare setting.  Methods include online discussion, lectures format, hands on application of computing skills and demonstration, and media presentations.  Course material is presented in a lecture and lab format to include healthcare scenarios to enhance the learning process.  Online resources and videos may also be used to support learning.
