Students randomly sample male and female flour beetle pupa grown on three types of media and record the weight and sex of each insect. Students then use Excel to test for effects on mean weight due to type of media, sex, and the interaction between these two factors. Used for an activity on two factor analysis of variance (ANOVA).

This applet was developed as part of a first course on biostatistics. It is used as part of a series of online lab activties for that course.
