The first collection is “Growing a Writing Practice: Non-Extractive Writing,” which focuses primarily on the idea that students are just writing essays to get them done and over with. They never think twice about them and hardly give them their best thoughts even when writing them. This source recommends that as educators we should keep our students engaged and find new ways to reignite their creativity and passion for writing. All in all, students should have a purpose when writing, especially when formatting a paper. Students must stay engaged, write their papers with confidence, and feel proud of what they turn in rather than just one and done. This source is heavy on inclusiveness ensuring students are all on track and dedicated to their work whereas the teacher introduces new ways to evolve their writing.

The next collection I looked at was “LIB 740-Teaching Creative Writing” which focuses on a website that offers all different titles such as teaching style, control, poetry etc. This is a great source that not only offers important information on how to teach subtitles but also includes many examples/prompts of how to present it to students to teach the lesson. It also includes sample essays, poems, and even books that have been written which can help students visualize when they see an example to formulate how to compose their own writing works.

I then looked at the interesting title “Guide to Grammar and Writing” which is a website that gives slide presentations for teachers to use to teach. They focus on all different parts of a sentence with grammar. Here there are examples and even quizzes students can take to test themselves. Teachers could also use the quizzes to help their students understand the lesson, like an exit ticket to make sure they comprehended the lesson.

The video offers lots of drawings and some statements that can be more eye-catching for students, and oftentimes incorporating a visual will help them remember. I know some videos I watched in high school have still sat with me today that teachers played. This video is an attempt to get kids engaged and show a fun way of learning a difficult topic.
