Internship Goals
Throughout the relatively short internship, I wish to learn more about scientific topics, learn about how research careers function, make connections with people of similar interests, and develop a memorable experience.
I wish to use this internship as a chance to gain knowledge. I know research seems like school and would not be a fit for everyone. However, I enjoy researching about topics pertaining to my interests.
I also want to learn about how research is done and how it benefits the real world in various ways. I would also like to learn about my fellow internees and their interests.
This experience will allow me to understand how research can impact others and how research works beyond discovering new ideas. I wish to use that knowledge from this experience to pursue a career in the science field and understand what I want and don't want to do.
In a field where working together describes part of the job, I would like to get to know other internees and my hosts. I want to know what their interest are, their ambitions, and what they have done in the past. As a person who enjoys talking to others and making friends, I would just like to connect with at least a few of people and be friends.
Overall, I want to fulfill the basic goal of everyone's summer. I want to have fun and create a memorable experience.
