The following is an instructor's tutorial on the use of Pear Deck in an online learning environment. Pear Deck is a Web 2.0 tool that allows an instructor to create interactive slides to monitor students' progress and understanding of a topic within a synchronous learning environment. It is a very useful formative assessment tool that provides an opportunity for meaningful engagement and expression.
The learning objectives:
Goal: To provide a demonstration on the use of Pear Deck for an instructor using Google slides for a synchronous class.
- Students will be to integrate the use of the Pear Deck extension on their web browser.
- Students will create an interactive formative assessment presentation using premade slides in Pear Deck.
- Students will test their Pear Deck presentation both as an instructor and as students.
