Evaluate the role of nutrition in optimizing health throughout the lifecycle and respond to harmful nutrition practices.

A healthy diet prevents disease and allows a person to live a longer, happier life. NUTR 376 

Demonstrate knowledge of nutrition as it applies to food service, dietetics, and wellness.

There are different food service categories such as commercial, institutional, military, and charitable. Dietetics helps the public improve their nutrition and wellness by adopting healthy new behaviors.

NUTR 203 

Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to apply management principles to nutrition and food service.

Learned about food service categories, where we provide food (hotels, airlines, etc), employment statistics. NUTR 203

Present and evaluate food and nutrition education programs to a variety of audiences.

Through my food diary project, I was able to understand how my diet benefits me and what it is lacking and teach others how MyDietAnalysis works. NUTR 376

Assess the role that behavior, economics, and dietary supplements have on planning and eating healthy diets.

Meal prepping, having a supermarket in one’s neighborhood, and analyzing what a diet may be missing helps someone have a healthier diet by preparing and having a plan for meals each day. NUTR 376

Demonstrate basic food preparation and presentation skills.
