Background on Client 

•Xtreme Ski Inc. is located in Banff Alberta. They own several ski resorts in the area which have been losing money over the past couple of year due to shorter skiing seasons caused by warmer average temperatures in the region. 

•Despite suffering damages as a result of climate change that could be linked to government inaction, it is unlikely that such a client would be successful in a Charter claim against the government.

•This is because the Charter does not provide for a corporation’s right to make money and courts have consistently declined to acknowledge economic rights. 

•As a result, it is recommended to choose a different client with a higher likelihood of success in such a case.
