Candidate for                                                           2022 IEEE Division VIII Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect

Many are called

Many stand for election

But many fewer are really qualified!

Thank you for visiting this website.  I am a candidate for the position of 2022 IEEE Division VIII Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect.  I hope that you will vote for me because I would like to represent every member of our profession in developing the goals and programs of IEEE.

When I agreed to run for this position, I carefully reviewed the published requirements shown in the left-hand column in the table below.  I then reviewed and did a self assessment of my own qualifications for each of those requirements.

It’s unfortunate that more candidates don’t carry out this kind of exercise, and it’s even more unfortunate that voters don’t analyze candidates this way.  Below, in the right-hand column of the table is my self-analysis of my qualifications for this position. I hope that you agree with my conclusion that I am most qualified, and that you will vote for me for this position.

In addition to the table, you can browse my resume to read details about my professional accomplishments.

I'd also like to draw your attention to two of my very recent activities, mostly related to the Covid-19 pandemic:

       1) Please visit the "Teaching with Technology Resource Center" (accessible from the Education Society's homepage) which I developed to address pandemic teaching issues for higher education instructors.
       2) You can also visit two portals (accessible from the Education Society's homepage) that I developed, based on ABET/CSAB criteria, with colleagues from Hong Kong and Madrid, for instructors of i) Computer Science and ii) Information Technology/Systems.

By the way, another criterion that isn’t specifically included in the table below is that the candidate needs to be a nice person. My sons and grandchildren, surveyed by my wife who agrees with them, all think I meet that criterion!
