 Conducting the MERLOT Peer Review

Welcome

Welcome to Module 2 of MERLOT GRAPE Camp, a MERLOT Peer Review Orientation. In Module 2 you will:

  • Learn the parts of the Description in the MERLOT Peer Review
  • Discover how to evaluate the three MERLOT Peer Review criteria
  • Learn how to complete the MERLOT Peer Review Report form
  • Complete a Peer Review on a MERLOT material yourself

Module Activities:

This module is presented in four videos:

  • In Part A, you will learn how to write the first part of the Peer Review, the Description.
  • In Part B, you will see how to complete the Evaluations and Observations part of the Peer Review.
  • In Part C, you will see how to complete the Peer Review Report form for our demonstration material, "How People Rationalize Fraud." This resource is found at: https://www.merlot.org/merlot/viewMaterial.htm?id=1323810
  • In Supplement 3, you will learn how to categorize the 22 different Material Types.

This guide will walk you through the MERLOT Peer Review Process and will serve as a reference for you.

Peer Review Report Form
This is the Peer_Review_form_v17.7.doc that you will use for all your reviews. Download the blank form and save it on your computer in your MERLOT file, as you will use it over and over again.

Assignments

1. Download a new copy of the MERLOT Peer Review Report Form.

2. Review the following material: "Sexual Harassment: The Three Types"

 3. If you have any questions, you can look through the "Guide to Writing Peer Reviews" in the Handouts.

3. Complete a Peer Review Report form (in Handouts) on that resource and save it to your computer.

4. Email your Facilitator to advise that you have completed the review.
