Handout on Correct Steps of Sculptured Nail

Preparation of Sculptured Nail- 2 minutes

1.  Sanitize Hands 

2.  Sanitize table and stool

3.  Find assignment bag in kit marked "Sculptured Nail"

4.  Open and Set up Work Area

5.  Sanitize finger instructed to work on

Application Method- 18 minutes to complete

1.  Remove shine from nail plate using emery board.  (Must discard emery board into trash after use.)

2.  Use a clean cotton ball to dust off nail plate.

3.  Apply nail dehydrator using a cotton ball.

4.  Apply nail form to proper finger

5.  Apply primer to nail plate.  (Do not get primer on skin)

6.  Form acrylic nail using monomer and polymer with acrylic brush.  (nail should be beveled like a natural nail and should be smooth, balanced and even)

7.  Pour polymer into the monomer and throw in the trash.  (Make sure you don't do the opposite)

8.  Tap acrylic nail with brush to see if nail is dry and remove form.

9.  Shape free edge and body of nail with file.  Dispose of nail file into trash.

10.  Buff nail.  Discard in trash.

11.  Clean nail with nail brush.

12.  Turn hand toward proctor to indicate you have completed the task.
