What are some of the ethical issues involved in the use of information?

Ethical use associated with the use of information involves ethical codes that clarifies the acceptable standard of behavior for users. Code of ethics do not have any legal ramification, but violation of ethical guidelines results in consequences for the behaviors.

Most academic institutions usually have an academic integrity policy that provides clarity to students about the resultant consequences for violations of the Academic Integrity policy.

Activity # 1:

Enquire in your institution about the Academic Integrity Policy that governs the acceptable standard of academic behaviours for students. Review the policy and then  answer the following question:

1. Do you think that the actions taken by your academic institution  for violating the policy is too drastic?

2. What methods  do you think your academic  institution  can use to ensure that all students become aware of the policy?

3. Research another  academic institution Academic Integrity Policy and compare it with your institutions' policy.
