Understanding the Value of Information
In academia numerous information products are used to gather information.Students are encouraged to use information from all these resources however they must exercise honesty and responsibility by recognising that the work and ideas from these resources came from someones intellect and therefore acknowledgement of that someone is important. Acknowledgement of the original creator of a work shows respect and honour for all the hard work done by the author. Thus using information in academia depends on the user being fair, honest open and respecting the intellect of others.
Academic Integrity means that students must present academic work that have not been copied from another or from other materials such as a taxtbook, notebook or electronic device, example, a calculator or mobile phone.
Academic Integrity means that students must present academic work that they have not falsified or present fake sources.
Academic Integrity means that students must cite information used from information sources. Citation has to be done when students paraphrase, summarise or quote information from sources. Both in-text citation (that is citing within the body of a text) and Work Cited List (citations at the end of a paper, sometimes referred to as Work Cited List, References or Bibliography).
