I am interested in learning more about the field of nursing and other specialties that nurses can work in. I enjoy learning new skills and information related to nursing. I enjoy furthering my education in nursing as well. The nursing specialties I enjoy the most are pediatrics, public health, burns, and labor and delivery. -

I worked as a pediatric rehabilitation nurse for a few months after graduating nursing school. At that job the skills I acquired were: Medication administration, tracheostomy care/suctioning, Gtube/PEG tube care/feedings/medication adminstration, wound care (pressure ulcers and burns), diabetes management, catheter insertion, TBI care and SCI care. -

I am currently a Public Health Nurse working at local health departments. Skills that I've acquired at this job are: immunization techniques and knowledge for adults and pediatrics, state required communicable disease reports, collaborative skills with Animal control, State, Child protective services, WIC counselors, and Case managers.
