Construction Core

Construction Core is a course which is a prerequisite for other courses in CTE such as carpentry, welding, and cabinet building. 


Course:

In this course students learn basic tools and their uses as well as saftey.  They must pass a safety test to pass the course.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be familiar with tools and the basics of building trades.

Assessment

A major assessment will be the building of a wall during the last 6 weeks of the course.  The wall involves framing, sheetrocking, installing a window, trimming, painting, and all other skills that go along with these.
