Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of this course the student should be able to •confidently discuss topical scientific matters with their peers and family. •critically assess the context and “scholarliness” of scientific sources. •research a scientific topic and communicate their research to civic groups. •demonstrate a general understanding of the science applicable to climate change

Assessment

Students are assessed by their performance on group projects, individual assignments and mathematical exams. The course is assessed using the student assessment of learning gains (SALG) instrument, course specific assessments and student performance on measurable learning outcomes.
