Tech vs REM Sleep
Does our students loss of sleep affect their Social Emotional Learning? Students with Technology vs REM Sleep connected to Social Emotional Learning.
Purpose/Mission
Without REM and deep sleep, students can experience irritability, difficulty concentrating, and a decrease in your quality of life as well as performance at school. 21st century learners are now growing up with technology in their back pockets. The screens of tablets, phones, and computers are often the last things that students see when they fall asleep. The mission is to provide a balance of technology use and traditional classroom habits to prevent the students from losing sleep. Providing fun hands on projects for the students will create a healthy separation from technology. We will find ways to keep students from losing sleep from excessive use of technology.

Learning Outcomes
Context
The teaching strategies learned in this course would be essential to the educators ability to create fun multimodal lessons. The program will be a gamification of a learning course about different multimodal activities in teachers lesson plans for elementary students. They will also learn in different levels of the course different teaching strategies to increase emotional stability. Incorporating social emotional learning teaching strategies will be a way to prevent students from becoming extremely emotional unstable while also tackling the issue of students using technology to occupy majority of their time.
Assessment & Other Information
Assessment
This course will have badge for completion of all five levels. By completing every task including the viewing of videos, presentations, and informational graphics, that educator would earn this badge of completion. Also, they would aquire the skills of making multimodal lesson plans that encourage healthy habits of social emotional learning for the students. This will allow students to find a balance between technology consumption and everyday hobbies and social interaction. The key factor is that this balance will help students rest instead of using technology as their sorce of entertainment, which will promote brain development.
Stakeholders
To help my project meet its strategic objectives by talking about their experience and perspective I envision I would have the stakeholders be the PTSO members and parents that care about the students emotion stability and brain development. Parents and teachers can provide any resources for the classroom.
These resources could include food items, art supplies, board games, card games, sports balls, fidget toys, and any other tools thats students may use for fun interactive multimodal learning activities.
