Selection of tool from EmTechWIKI Discover Critical Thinking resources.

 

Pedagogical Approach

For Critical Thinking module of Exploring Emerging Technologies for Lifelong Learning my selected tool is Coursera.

Perhaps the best-known provider of online MOOCs, Coursera describes itself as providing “universal access to the world s best education, partnering with top universities and organizations to offer courses online.” While courses are mostly free or low-cost, students must pay to secure a certificate of completion. Students can even complete degrees online via Coursera and partnering institutions.

Learning Outcomes

Coursera has helped me in learning a lot through many courses covering different topics and which has helped me in increasing my ability to think critically.

One such course which I enrolled for was Foundations of Everyday Leadership offered by University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This course covered a lot on leadership like the objectives of leaders, decision making tchniques, individual decision making, group decision making and managing motivation through quizzes, case studies and peer graded assignments. 

This course has provided me more knowledge as a leader how to think critically while making decisions, considering various factors like inclusiveness, diversity etc. which affect the quality of decisions made.
