Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership -- starting with a golden circle and the question: "Why?" His examples include Apple, Martin Luther King Jr. and the Wright brothers. Simon Sinek explores how leaders can inspire cooperation, trust and change. He's the author of the classic "Start With Why."

This video could be assigned for viewing outside of class or it is short enough that it could be viewed in class.
It would best be used for an in-class discussion of defining characteristics of inspirational leaders, of which a number of examples are provided in the video (e.g. Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Wright Brothers ....), and how these characteristics influence organizational participates and organizational results.
This video would be particularly useful in courses related to management principles and organizational behavior, particularly with regard to leadership.

Other Issues and Comments:: The video and the book, on which it is based, were produced in 2009 and so are somewhat dated. Major examplar in the book, Steve Jobs has passed away and Apple is a much different company today. This needs to be considered and could be a discussion topic related to leaders and companies that might be current examples.
