The Be Internet Awesome website aims to keep children safe online, stating that in order to "make the most of the Internet," children must be prepared to make good decisions. The website is composed of four components, which are the Internet Code of Awesome (the Code), Be internet Awesome Pledge (the Pledge), Be Internet Awesome Curriculum, and a browser-based game called Interland. The program's five core ideas are outlined in both the Code and the Pledge: "Share with Care," "Don't Fall for Fake," "Secure your Secrets," "It's Cool to be Kind," and "When in Doubt, Talk it Out." The first four tenets correspond to Interland levels, and the ready-made curriculum package includes the rest of the program's principles into activities designed for a classroom setting. All four components emphasizes child safety, encapsulated in the slogan “play safe, learn safe, stay safe”.

Content Quality
Rating:
Strengths:
This online set of activities and resources enables elementary (and middle school) students to be good digital citizens. The Be Internet Awesome website includes overviews, topics, aims, and standards for each of the first four tenets, as well as three to five classroom exercises for the fifth, "when in doubt, talk it out." The content is up to date and accurate, and it is timely in light of the shifting paradigm of teaching and learning. It provides a flexible learning opportunity and a suitable amount of material based on its key objectives. It also allows students to reflect on their roles as information makers and sharers, allowing them to better use associated skills. The concepts' application is clear in the related resources, which are simple to adopt and measure. The lessons are complete and age-appropriate. The materials are sound, and align with ISTE technology standards; they were developed by Google and education experts. Overall, it contains useful information that may be used in a browsing, playing, connecting, sharing, and socializing environment. The materials can be used by educators without additional help. The games can be played by children without external help. The links work (caveat below), and are appropriately attributed. The game can be played without sound (words are read aloud).
Concerns:
While children are encouraged to be active participants in preserving their online security, they are not aware of all the ways information is utilized on the Internet. The websites define the boundaries of typical usage, focusing mostly on the information that a user can see and interact with when using the Internet in a traditional manner. Understanding how to traverse the information accessible to us as users is not enough when it comes to being alert about safety and privacy. In addition, the research base is not noted. In the game, one question did not have the text.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
The website accurately explains the learning objectives, which are basic ICT literacy standards, and highlights existing knowledge and concepts in a clear and concise manner. The five units each build knowledge progressively, and they connect well with each other as they result in improving students' abilities in digital learning. A very engaging approach to all levels of engagement is established by taking into account detailed access to high-quality material. The lessons are ready-made and easy to follow. Children can learn main ideas without being overwhelmed. The concepts help children apply their knowledge in daily online life. Moreover, the website contributes to information and communications technology curriculum and pedagogy.
Concerns:
Some children who do not like to play games, or have trouble with online game controls, may get frustrated.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
This is a very professional looking site: clear, well laid out, colorful, and very engaging and interactive. The interface contains clear directions for teachers and students as they navigate it independently at their own pace. The technology is not overly sophisticated, and no plug-ins are needed, it seems. I
Concerns:
Hearing impaired users are not disadvantaged, but visually impaired users are.
Other Issues and Comments:
This is a brilliant technique to teaching and learning that is completely self-contained. Students and individuals in any discipline can benefit from interconnected webpages. In terms of content quality, and based on my personal examination, all of the information is unquestionably current/updated and simple to understand. The website has been awarded a Seal of Alignment by ISTE.
