Content Quality
Rating:
Strengths:
This class activity offers skill-based learning through practical and competency-based approach. It is straightforward and the instructions are easy to follow.
Concerns:
The Skills Scorecard was not available. It is mentioned in the instructions but it was not included in the file. It is possible that students could conduct Internet searches based on soft skills desired in the workplace in lieu of the Scorecard.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
Syndicate based learning that encourages interaction, feedback and knowledge exchange.
The sample questions to help facilitate the discussion were very needed and helpful to initiate what the participants learned from the Employability Skills Module.
Concerns:
The focus is narrowed on a particular case example without considering other related dynamics. In addition to communication and working in a team, this case also deals with process improvement and organizational change.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
The instructions are simple and straightforward.
Because this is a team activity, each participant would have an opportunity to voice what he/she understood to help the team reach the expected outcome.
Concerns:
Subjectivity factor especially during debriefing, i.e. lacking proper debriefing guidelines.
The missing Skills Scorecard is a concern.
Other Issues and Comments:
Great, creative activity. There should be a review on the number of needed participants and determine how to complete this activity if there are not enough team members to divide in 4s.
