Strengths:
The website users promote proper critical thinking, as their critical thinking is sharpened to know how assess the quality of any written content.
The website users learn how to differentiate among all the citation styles since the information tackles on this website is written in a very functional and pragmatic fashion.
It seems to have everything. This site offers a plethora of details on each stage of writing and all the steps involved. There are many links and videos which will enable the learner to follow the lessons on their own
Concerns:
There is almost too much. I was not always sure where I was going and what was next. It was hard to find just what I wanted.
Potential Effectiveness as a Teaching Tool
Rating:
Strengths:
It seems to have all one might expect from a writing text. I certainly see this as an opportunity to send a student who needs more detail to a place where he/she can take their time filling in their missing knowledge.
Concerns:
I got lost, and I knew what to expect. The information often jumps around and may not follow the pattern needed by the learner. There were some pages where I was not sure if I was seeing a repeating page or if it was just similar. I would like to have seen more quizzes.
Ease of Use for Both Students and Faculty
Rating:
Strengths:
Navigating through the different web pages and the links on this website are accessible. This means that the website users may not find any difficulties in regards to finding the information.
Concerns:
There is almost too much information. It took me hours to just go through each page. There is not a chapter type overview to get a feel for what is actually there and how to get there. The listing on the right side has so many new items that open new lists that this reader was lost. I was not always sure where I had just come from and where I needed to go next. It would have been nice to go to the next page. ** In addition, the links did not open to a new window which made the navigation even more confusing
