Created by Articulate (the company that makes Storyline), E-Learning Heroes is a site full of resources on creating learning objects using authoring tools and instructional design principles.

Recommended Uses:
These tutorials, eBooks, and articles are geared to the instructional designer or instruction. The materials in the learning guides and articles are good for individuals, teams, lectures, self-paced, home work or in-class work. They are worth reviewing even if the majority of a professional's time isn't spent designing e-learning.

A browser with an internet connection.

eBooks require a pdf reader.

The material and website offers a variety of ebooks and articles for each level of learning from the beginner to the proficient.
Concerns:
It takes time to go through the site, however, the time is well vested; there are excellent and free(!), download examples, articles, and discussions. Some material is very specific to Articulate but the design principles are still helpful.
