I would use this site to enhance my lesson plan by incorporating this activity to align with the Common Core writing standards. By having students write a newspaper article on the whole scene surrounding Watson and Crick decoding DNA would (hopefully) give students a sense and get them to realize the importance of this feat and how grand it was. This is a great idea in getting students engaged in the material, and also allows them the creativity to explore within the content. It could also be a good way to assess whether or not they understand the concept of DNA in general. This can be a good formative assessment.

This site has animations that show the different processes of cell division (mitosis and meiosis) step by step. This is an excellent resource to differentiate a lesson and also to reinforce the conceptual ideas of the actual processes taking place. It offers an clear depiction of each process, and can be used to enhance a lesson via demonstration, and also is a way to engage students interest in the topic. The videos allow you to choose if you want it narrated, if you want it subtitled in English or Spanish, and is a great way to clarify any student misconceptions about the subject.

This is a great resource for teachers to use in their bio lab to study anatomy and capture the interest of students. A virtual dissection of a cat is still as interesting as a real dissection of a cat. Its alot less messy, and will not raise too much hullabaloo among students who might have an issue with this. On this site there are other virtual labs that can substitute in place of a lab that students would be unable to do because of lack of school funding or other reasons.

Trying to make the nitrogen cycle and water cycle fun and interesting can be a challenge. This website gives teachers a sample lesson plan and can give inspiration to those who need a supplemental activity to accompany their already made lesson plan. As a teacher, you can incorporate this stream activity into your lesson but as a small scale demo, since most of the schools in this urban area may not have access to a stream.
