This open textbook is being utilized in a physics course for undergraduate students by Dan Fernandez, Ph.D., at Cal State Monterey Bay. The open textbook is intended for a one-year introductory course of the type typically taken by biology majors, or for AP Physics 1 and 2. The main motivation to adopt an open textbook was to find a way to reduce the costs students had to pay to obtain the materials they needed for my classes. Most students access the open textbook online or in PDF format.

This open textbook is being utilized in an environmental biology course for undergraduate students by John Silveus, M.S., at Cal State Monterey Bay. The open textbook conveys the same biological information as traditional text books but does so in simpler terms that these students can easily understand. The main motivation to adopt an open textbook was I did not want to make students pay for a text they would resent buying (as I did many times). Most students access the open textbook online.
