2. Pick one volunteer from class and assign a
simple task to them ( Ex. Send a
student to feed the fish going from the front to
the back of the room.)
3. Have the same student repeat the same task
but blind fold the student.
4. The rest of the class observes the student
strugle because he/she no longer can use
vision to for guidance to get from point A to
point B.
5. Mention to your students that the eyes gather
light from the surroundings and
the brain interprets the information. Information
gets from the eye to the brain via the optic nerve.
6. Sometimes the brain tries to make sense of the
things you see by filling in the gaps. Have
students go to the site and read through to see
if they can find their blind spot.
7. Have a class discussion at the end of class to
see what they think the blind spot is.
